In March of 2009, some KDDGA members volunteered
and cleaned at the Henry Jackson Park in
Danville
,
KY.
Branches, limbs, and twigs fell off trees and were on the ground after a
massive ice storm back in January of 2009. Trees, branches, limbs, and twigs
were also on the ground everywhere in Danville, and the aftermath of the
massive ice storm in Danville required a great deal of cleaning. Cleaning
Henry Jackson Park was not a high priority for the City of
Danville
as cleaning other areas in
Danville
, so the mess was still on ground at the park in March of 2009. Some KDDGA
members came to the park and cleared the mess out of the disc golf course at
the park. They piled the branches, limbs, and twigs in certain areas that were
easily accessible for city workers to come and pick them up without having to
gather them off the ground everywhere at the park. The disc golf course at
Henry Jackson Park then became playable. |
